How parking lot vehicle counting works
Camlytics Service uses AI-based object detection to identify and track vehicles in real time. You define virtual counting lines or zones directly on the camera feed. Every time a car, truck, van, or bus crosses a line or enters a zone, an event is recorded — no manual observation needed.
Counting is bidirectional, so you always know exactly how many vehicles entered versus exited, and can derive the current occupancy count at any moment.
Zone-based occupancy monitoring
Beyond simple vehicle counting, Camlytics Service can monitor how many spaces are occupied in each parking zone. Draw a zone over any parking area and the software will track zone occupancy in real time, compute average dwell time, and alert you when capacity thresholds are reached.
